Today, I handed Ivone my painting which I entitled “Varsity”.It’s a picture of her stooping down while dribbling a volleyball. She’s a varsity player here in campus (VSU) and their uniform is green and gold.ivone_volleyball

I went to Ilang today. I was a little bit nervous because of what I was about to give then. We chatted for a while, along with other girls who graduated from Doane in Isabel.

I was planning to give it to her just before I leave so we won’t be talking much about the painting all the time. She even asked where I have been before going there because I was carrying a small flat bag with banig design with me (I kept the painting inside).

I drew this picture with poster paint or poster color, 10″x12″, from April 11-12…two days. So I have been keeping it for more than two months. Hehehe…

But I knew there I will come a time when I would really have to stop keeping it. And I thought this is it.

She had been mentioning to me about her struggle about staying in the team while coping up with her studies. She’s now 3rd year in VetMed which marks the start of the four year todo VetMed education, no more minors. Everything is now serious.

So I guess I would have to give it to her as an encouragement for her to stay as long as she can, and a remembrance to her when she would have to give it up in favor of her course. She always tells me such time will have to come.

It’s a thrill and a joy to me to see how she reacted when I handed it to her. We were not alone, so we have to compose ourselves. But still, her beautiful eyes glistened. I loved that. She thanked me. That was music to my ears.

Everything paid off.
